We thought Sam was just parroting Mike when they played "piles". Turns out he was paying attention!

Santa!

Today we took Sam and Naomi to see Santa! Naomi slept through it while Sam, Mom and Dad had a great time! Bad weather meant we almost had the place to ourselves, which made it easier to enjoy with a toddler. Sam liked the "Day in the Life of an Elf" display (the entire 8th floor of Macy's) and didn't cry on Santa's lap. He especially liked eating the gingerbread man at the end and in true kid fashion picked the candies off and ate them first. Afterward we all picked out Christmas ornaments--Sam chose an owl :)

Christmas Tree

Last weekend we took Sam and Naomi out to cut down our Christmas tree! Naomi slept through most of it, but Sam had a fun time helping Daddy cut down the tree and feeding the animals at the petting zoo.

At first we thought this was a fluke since Naomi's only 5 weeks old, but she's done it many times!

Piles

After dinner Sam often asks to play "piles" with Daddy. He's referring to his pile of US President and 50 States flash cards. He particularly likes James K. Polk. This video is a little dark, but we thought it was too cute to keep to ourselves:
