Bell Museum, Part 2

A little video of Sam running around the Bell Museum. We pretty much had the place to ourselves, so he had a blast running around and looking at everything:

Bell Museum

The whole family went to the Bell Museum of natural history for Mommy's birthday! Sam loved it--he was running all around pointing at all of the birds, animals, and fish.

We thought Sam was just parroting Mike when they played "piles". Turns out he was paying attention!

Santa!

Today we took Sam and Naomi to see Santa! Naomi slept through it while Sam, Mom and Dad had a great time! Bad weather meant we almost had the place to ourselves, which made it easier to enjoy with a toddler. Sam liked the "Day in the Life of an Elf" display (the entire 8th floor of Macy's) and didn't cry on Santa's lap. He especially liked eating the gingerbread man at the end and in true kid fashion picked the candies off and ate them first. Afterward we all picked out Christmas ornaments--Sam chose an owl :)

Last weekend we took Sam and Naomi out to cut down our Christmas tree! Naomi slept through most of it, but Sam had a fun time helping Daddy cut down the tree and feeding the animals at the petting zoo.

At first we thought this was a fluke since Naomi's only 5 weeks old, but she's done it many times!

After dinner Sam often asks to play "piles" with Daddy. He's referring to his pile of US President and 50 States flash cards. He particularly likes James K. Polk. This video is a little dark, but we thought it was too cute to keep to ourselves:

Playmat Part Deux

We put together Sam's playmat (from when he was a baby) for Naomi, and she seems to like it...

...but I think Sam liked it more!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend! Grandma and Papock came out to spend the weekend visiting with us and to meet Naomi. Sam had a great time playing--especially dancing around to the drums!

Little Legs

We love these little leg warmers! They keep Naomi's legs warm with no pants to put on/off when changing her diaper--and no waistband to irritate her belly button while it was healing. Plus they're cute!

Happy Halloween!

Sam wanted nothing to do with the costume or trick-or-treating, but he thought pumpkin carving was fun! He told us the pumpkin innards were yucky and that the pumpkins had happy smiles:

Sam had a fun 2nd birthday with Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, and Naomi. (Plus a video chat with Grandma and Papock!) His favorite part was probably the chocolate cupcake:

Naomi's first day

Naomi's first 24 hours were pretty eventful! She had her first bath, got her nails trimmed, had her feet printed, and met her big brother and Grandma and Grandpa. She also managed to get in lots of sleeping, eating and pooping. Sam was very interested to meet his little sister, especially when she gave him his owl puppet.

Mom, Dad and big brother Sam are happy to finally meet the newest Nowak! Naomi Lynette Nowak was born on the 27th of October at 10:33PM. She's a healthy 7 lbs 7 ozs and 20.25" long. Mom and baby are both doing great!

Welcome!

Welcome to Nowak News! With the new addition to our family, we decided that a new blog site was in order. We'll be adding regular updates with photos and videos of the family, much like we did with Sam's blog for the past two years.

You can still view "Sam's Blog" if you'd like to see photos and videos from his first two years, but we won't be adding any new posts there. We hope you like the new site!
